Surah Al-A'laa with Urdu and English translation

87:1Make a reel of this ayah

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى ﴿1﴾

(اے پیغمبر) اپنے پروردگار جلیل الشان کے نام کی تسبیح کرو

Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,

87:2Make a reel of this ayah

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ﴿2﴾

جس نے (انسان کو) بنایا پھر (اس کے اعضاء کو) درست کیا

Who created and proportioned

87:3Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ ﴿3﴾

اور جس نے (اس کا) اندازہ ٹہرایا (پھر اس کو) رستہ بتایا

And who destined and [then] guided

87:4Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ ﴿4﴾

اور جس نے چارہ اگایا

And who brings out the pasture

87:5Make a reel of this ayah

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ ﴿5﴾

پھر اس کو سیاہ رنگ کا کوڑا کر دیا

And [then] makes it black stubble.

87:6Make a reel of this ayah

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ ﴿6﴾

ہم تمہیں پڑھا دیں گے کہ تم فراموش نہ کرو گے

We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,

87:7Make a reel of this ayah

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ ﴿7﴾

مگر جو خدا چاہے۔ وہ کھلی بات کو بھی جانتا ہے اور چھپی کو بھی

Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.

87:8Make a reel of this ayah

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ﴿8﴾

ہم تم کو آسان طریقے کی توفیق دیں گے

And We will ease you toward ease.

87:9Make a reel of this ayah

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ﴿9﴾

سو جہاں تک نصیحت (کے) نافع (ہونے کی امید) ہو نصیحت کرتے رہو

So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

87:10Make a reel of this ayah

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ ﴿10﴾

جو خوف رکھتا ہے وہ تو نصیحت پکڑے گا

He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.

87:11Make a reel of this ayah

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى ﴿11﴾

اور (بےخوف) بدبخت پہلو تہی کرے گا

But the wretched one will avoid it -

87:12Make a reel of this ayah

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ﴿12﴾

جو (قیامت کو) بڑی (تیز) آگ میں داخل ہو گا

[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

87:13Make a reel of this ayah

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ ﴿13﴾

پھر وہاں نہ مرے گا اور نہ جئے گا

Neither dying therein nor living.

87:14Make a reel of this ayah

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ﴿14﴾

بے شک وہ مراد کو پہنچ گیا جو پاک ہوا

He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

87:15Make a reel of this ayah

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ ﴿15﴾

اور اپنے پروردگار کے نام کا ذکر کرتا رہا اور نماز پڑھتا رہا

And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

87:16Make a reel of this ayah

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ﴿16﴾

مگر تم لوگ تو دنیا کی زندگی کو اختیار کرتے ہو

But you prefer the worldly life,

87:17Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ﴿17﴾

حالانکہ آخرت بہت بہتر اور پائندہ تر ہے

While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

87:18Make a reel of this ayah

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ﴿18﴾

یہ بات پہلے صحیفوں میں (مرقوم) ہے

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

87:19Make a reel of this ayah

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ ﴿19﴾

(یعنی) ابراہیم اور موسیٰ کے صحیفوں میں

The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
