Surah Al-Fajr with Urdu and English translation

89:1Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلْفَجْرِ ﴿1﴾

فجر کی قسم

By the dawn

89:2Make a reel of this ayah

وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۢ ﴿2﴾

اور دس راتوں کی

And [by] ten nights

89:3Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ ﴿3﴾

اور جفت اور طاق کی

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

89:4Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ﴿4﴾

اور رات کی جب جانے لگے

And [by] the night when it passes,

89:5Make a reel of this ayah

هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌۭ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ ﴿5﴾

اور بے شک یہ چیزیں عقلمندوں کے نزدیک قسم کھانے کے لائق ہیں کہ (کافروں کو ضرور عذاب ہو گا)

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?

89:6Make a reel of this ayah

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ﴿6﴾

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے عاد کے ساتھ کیا کیا

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -

89:7Make a reel of this ayah

إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ ﴿7﴾

(جو) ارم (کہلاتے تھے اتنے) دراز قد

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,

89:8Make a reel of this ayah

ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ ﴿8﴾

کہ تمام ملک میں ایسے پیدا نہیں ہوئے تھے

The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

89:9Make a reel of this ayah

وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ ﴿9﴾

اور ثمود کے ساتھ (کیا کیا) جو وادئِ (قریٰ) میں پتھر تراشتے تھے (اور گھر بناتے) تھے

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

89:10Make a reel of this ayah

وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ ﴿10﴾

اور فرعون کے ساتھ (کیا کیا) جو خیمے اور میخیں رکھتا تھا

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

89:11Make a reel of this ayah

ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ ﴿11﴾

یہ لوگ ملکوں میں سرکش ہو رہے تھے

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

89:12Make a reel of this ayah

فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ ﴿12﴾

اور ان میں بہت سی خرابیاں کرتے تھے

And increased therein the corruption.

89:13Make a reel of this ayah

فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ﴿13﴾

تو تمہارے پروردگار نے ان پر عذاب کا کوڑا نازل کیا

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

89:14Make a reel of this ayah

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ ﴿14﴾

بے شک تمہارا پروردگار تاک میں ہے

Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

89:15Make a reel of this ayah

فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ ﴿15﴾

مگر انسان (عجیب مخلوق ہے کہ) جب اس کا پروردگار اس کو آزماتا ہے تو اسے عزت دیتا اور نعمت بخشتا ہے۔ تو کہتا ہے کہ (آہا) میرے پروردگار نے مجھے عزت بخشی

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

89:16Make a reel of this ayah

وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَـٰنَنِ ﴿16﴾

اور جب (دوسری طرح) آزماتا ہے کہ اس پر روزی تنگ کر دیتا ہے تو کہتا ہے کہ (ہائے) میرے پروردگار نے مجھے ذلیل کیا

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."

89:17Make a reel of this ayah

كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ﴿17﴾

نہیں بلکہ تم لوگ یتیم کی خاطر نہیں کرتے

No! But you do not honor the orphan

89:18Make a reel of this ayah

وَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ﴿18﴾

اور نہ مسکین کو کھانا کھلانے کی ترغیب دیتے ہو

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

89:19Make a reel of this ayah

وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا ﴿19﴾

اور میراث کے مال سمیٹ کر کھا جاتے ہو

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

89:20Make a reel of this ayah

وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا ﴿20﴾

اور مال کو بہت ہی عزیز رکھتے ہو

And you love wealth with immense love.

89:21Make a reel of this ayah

كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّۭا دَكًّۭا ﴿21﴾

تو جب زمین کی بلندی کوٹ کوٹ کو پست کر دی جائے گی

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -

89:22Make a reel of this ayah

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّۭا صَفًّۭا ﴿22﴾

اور تمہارا پروردگار (جلوہ فرما ہو گا) اور فرشتے قطار باندھ باندھ کر آ موجود ہوں گے

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,

89:23Make a reel of this ayah

وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ﴿23﴾

اور دوزخ اس دن حاضر کی جائے گی تو انسان اس دن متنبہ ہو گا مگر تنبہ (سے) اسے (فائدہ) کہاں (مل سکے گا)

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

89:24Make a reel of this ayah

يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى ﴿24﴾

کہے گا کاش میں نے اپنی زندگی (جاودانی کے لیے) کچھ آگے بھیجا ہوتا

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

89:25Make a reel of this ayah

فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ ﴿25﴾

تو اس دن نہ کوئی خدا کے عذاب کی طرح کا (کسی کو) عذاب دے گا

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

89:26Make a reel of this ayah

وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ ﴿26﴾

اور نہ کوئی ویسا جکڑنا جکڑے گا

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

89:27Make a reel of this ayah

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ﴿27﴾

اے اطمینان پانے والی روح!

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

89:28Make a reel of this ayah

ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ ﴿28﴾

اپنے پروردگار کی طرف لوٹ چل۔ تو اس سے راضی وہ تجھ سے راضی

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

89:29Make a reel of this ayah

فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى ﴿29﴾

تو میرے (ممتاز) بندوں میں شامل ہو جا

And enter among My [righteous] servants

89:30Make a reel of this ayah

وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى ﴿30﴾

اور میری بہشت میں داخل ہو جا

And enter My Paradise."
